About us...
AXIS Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 Non-profit organization that seeks to lead out in intervention and motivational services for what society considers "at-risk" youth. We like to consider these young people as "Youth With Potential". From an appreciative motivation perspective, we believe that we can make a difference through the removal of the "rough" edges, releasing the "brilliance of potential". Our mission is to address the causes and consequences of crime and violence through research, demonstration and advocacy.
History
Non profit history
The president provides a long-term history of corporate work, and as of the last 9 years, has worked extensively in the non-profit industry. His roles have included directing the marketing communications of a Redlands, CA non-profit that has a 72 year history in the community. He additionally has led out in developing a Business Improvement District, and was the recipient of the "Business Advocate of the Year" award in 2005. He started his involvement as a business strategist supporting workforce development and brings an MBA and Health Psychology degree to the work environment.
The
president was awarded the “Business Advocate of the Year” award
through the San Diego Business Development Council. To support the receipt of
this award he was involved in a Gompers middle school project
directed towards educating youth on life skills issues and about the relevance
of education. He was also a part of developing the first annual literacy festival for
youth in Southeastern San Diego, of which he
was recognized by the City Council office.
